Ike Davis to Begin Starting vs. LHP
On Monday afternoon at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, Mets skipper Terry Collins said he plans to begin starting 1B Ike Davis against Left Handed pitching. His first start against a Southpaw will come either tonight or tomorrow, with the team facing LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (11-3, 2.99 ERA) tonight and former Mets LHP Chris Capuano (4-6, 4.50 ERA) tomorrow night. Josh Satin has been getting the call at first base previously, since Ike Davis' recall from Triple-A Las Vegas back in July.
Ike Davis has finally been getting on base, having a .485 OBP since being promoted, although the slugger only has 1 HR and 9 RBI since his promotion.

Mets Post Round-Up: Monday August 12th, 2013
First off, welcome to my new blog, The Amazin's. This blog is dedicated to the better team in New York, the New York Mets.
Every night, I'll be posting a "post round-up" of the day's Mets news, so here's my first.
-Terry Collins has confirmed that rookie prospect Wilmer Flores will not play in the Outfield or First Base this season. When asked, he responded "No, no, no. We have too many guys out there."
-John Buck is still awaiting the phone call that her wife is going into labor for the birth of their third kid. She is over a week late.
-Lastly, it has been confirmed that Mets catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud will be promoted when John Buck leaves for paternity leave, although he will likely be sent back to Triple-A Las Vegas upon Buck's return. He will later be recalled in September.

Today in Mets News:
-A post for It's About the Money, Domenic Lanza filled out the Mets, as well as the other 29 teams in the MLB's rosters if they were made of entirely home grown players. For the Nets, Matt Harvey, Scott Kasmir, Jonathon Niese, Dillon Gee and A.J. Burnett highlight the rotation, while Ike Davis, Daniel Murphy, Mike Carp, José Reyes, David Wright, and Ty Wigginton (amongst others) top out the infield. The outfield consists of Nelson Cruz, Endy Chavez, Angel Pagan, Lucas Duda and Carlos Gomez, while Heath Bell, Matt Lindstrom, Josh Edgin, Jeurys Familia, Jennry Mejia, Bobby Parnell, and Joe Smith top out the bullpen.-Terry Collins has confirmed that rookie prospect Wilmer Flores will not play in the Outfield or First Base this season. -There is nothing new on Bobby Parnell's injury, a herniated disc in his neck in which he sustained last week.
-Finally, RHP Jeremy Hefner, who was just demoted to Triple-A Las Vegas yesterday, had his elbow examined today. He will be re-examined in Manhattan on Wednesday. GM Sandy Alderson still says that a DL stint is likely for the Right Hander.
